Zalmen's Zoomin' Bar Mitzvah
Welcome to Zalmen's Zoomin' Bar Mitzvah Website. We hope you'll zoom in to celebrate with us.
Zalmen will begin his Bar Mitzvah day by leading the evening service
Wednesday, July 8 7:30 pm
The Zoom link for Zalmen's Bar Mitzvah service will open at 9:00am.
We ask you to please come early to make sure we have time to admit everyone from the waiting room, and to see your faces before we begin.
Zalmen will lead the service, read from the Torah, and share his own words of Torah.
Zalmen's Bar Mitzvah, like the day he was born, falls on the 17th of Tamuz, a minor fast day on the Jewish calendar. He will be reading the fast-day Torah reading and including fast-day insertions in the liturgy.
Some in our community have the custom to fast on this day, while others may not, or may acknowledge the day in another meaningful way. We encourage you to consider marking the day with an act of tzedakah, supporting a cause dear to your heart and soul.
Zalmen will lead Mincha, read Torah again and read the Haftarah portion for the fast day
We'd love to see you in person (from a distance) if you can come.
Or to pelt (oops...we mean shower) Zalmen with sweets
Zalmen will lead the Temple Israel Community in Kabbalat Shabbat
